Oh Min Ae

Oh Min Ae is a South Korean actress born in Seoul who began her acting career at age 27 after working various jobs to support herself as the child of an unwed single mother. She made her film debut in 1999 in "Memento Mori" and spent approximately eighteen months as a monk at Cheongunsa Temple before resuming work as a theater actress under a stage name for a decade. In her 40s, she married, had a child, completed her high school equivalency exam, and earned a social worker license from Soongsil University's Graduate School of Social Welfare in 2010. She co-founded the Dongjak Theater Association, serving as its first branch president until 2017, directed the 36th Seoul Theater Festival in 2015, and was elected co-vice chairman of the Performing Arts Workers' Union in 2017 alongside Cho Jae Hyun; however, her involvement in addressing sexual violence cases during the 2018 MeToo movement led to legal difficulties and her eventual withdrawal from the theater community.
