Miyashita Junko is a Japanese actress born in Tokyo who began her career as a waitress before being recruited into pink films, making her debut in July 1971 with "That's How I Lost" and appearing in eight entries of Nikkatsu's "Apartment Wife" series between 1972 and 1974 while working with acclaimed directors including Wakamatsu Koji, Tanaka Noboru, and Kumashiro Tatsumi. She earned critical recognition for her roles in Tanaka's Showa Trilogy and received a Blue Ribbon Award for her performances in Kihachi Okamoto's "Dynamite Bang Bang" and Hideo Gosha's "Bandit vs. Samurai Squad," for which she was also nominated for a Japanese Academy Award for best new actress. Her accolades continued with a 1979 Japanese Academy Award nomination for best actress for "Woman with Red Hair," as well as Hochi News awards for that film and "Wet Weekend," followed by a special career award at the 1980 Yokohama Film Festival. From the 1980s onward, she transitioned to mainstream cinema, notably appearing in director Mitsuo Yanagimachi's award-winning films "Fire Festival" and "About Love, Tokyo."
