Kim Jung Hyun is a South Korean actor managed by SEESUN who was born in Busan and studied acting at the Korea National University of Arts before completing his mandatory military service at age twenty-one. Beginning his career in musical theatre, he made his film debut in 2015 with "Overman" and his television debut in "Jealousy Incarnate," earning the Best New Actor award at the 2017 MBC Drama Awards for his role in "Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People." In 2018, he withdrew from the drama "Time" midway through production due to eating and sleep disorders, having previously been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and depressive episodes. He returned to television in December 2019 with "Crash Landing on You," which became the highest-rated tvN drama and the third-highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history, after which he transitioned from O&M Entertainment to Story J Company in September 2021 before ending his exclusive contract in February 2025.
