Jo Jin Woong is a South Korean actor born Jo Won Joon who earned a bachelor's degree in Theater and Film from Kyungsung University after obtaining his High School Graduation Certification Examination. He began his acting career as a theater actor in 1996 with the company Dongnyeok in Busan, where he performed for eight years before relocating to Seoul in 2004 to pursue film and television work, making his screen debut that year in the movie "Once Upon A Time In High School." In December 2025, reports surfaced regarding criminal incidents from his youth, including vehicle theft and drunk driving; his agency confirmed these youthful offenses while denying sexual assault allegations, and he subsequently issued an apology and announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.
