Kim Sun Ah is a South Korean actress and model who was born in Daegu and spent her formative years in Chōfu, Tokyo, where she became fluent in Japanese. She initially gained recognition as a film actress following her debut in the box office film Yesterday and her lead role in the hit film Wet Dreams, before achieving widespread fame for her portrayal of Kim Sam Soon in My Lovely Sam Soon. Her performance in that role earned her numerous accolades between 2005 and 2006, including the MBC Drama Awards Grand Prize and Top Excellence Award, the Seoul International Drama Awards Best Actress in a Miniseries, and the Korea Broadcasting Producers Awards Best Actress. Early in her career, she appeared in a music video and made television appearances before establishing herself as a prominent actress.
