Matsu Takako, born June 10, 1977 in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese stage and screen actress and pop singer/songwriter from a prominent Buyo and Kabuki family; her father is Matsumoto Koshiro IX and her brother is Ichikawa Somegoro VII (now Matsumoto Koshiro X). She made her theatrical debut at age sixteen in 1993 and gained prominence through major television successes including "Long Vacation" (1996) and "Love Generation" (1997) opposite Kimura Takuya, before reuniting with him for the acclaimed drama "HERO" (2001), which set a 25-year Japanese TV ratings record with 34.8% average viewership and spawned multiple films and sequels. Transitioning into music after being encouraged by a director in 1997, she released her debut single "Ashita, Haru ga Kitara" and has since produced 22 singles and 13 albums while maintaining her acting career, also voicing Elsa and performing the Japanese version of "Let It Go" for Disney's "Frozen" in 2013. She married guitarist and record producer Sahashi Yoshiyuki on December 27, 2007, and gave birth to her daughter on March 30, 2015.
