Sato Kanichiro is the eldest son of actor Sato Koichi and former actress Hirota Ayako, and the grandson of Mikuni Rentaro. He began his acting career in 2017 and received recognition early in his career, winning the Newcomer Award at the 2018 27th Japan Film Critics Award.
