Yamaoka Hisano

Yamaoka Hisano was a Japanese actress born in Magome, Ota-ku, Tokyo, who enrolled in the Takarazuka Music School in 1942 but left in 1944 due to wartime constraints. After studying at the Haiyuu-za Acting School, she made her stage debut in 1946 with "Bunka Giin" and her film debut in 1953's "Yassamossa," later co-founding the Gekidan Seinen-za theater company in 1954 and signing with Nikkatsu. She was married to Morizuka Toshi from 1956 to 1971, after which she left Seinen-za and remained single for the rest of her life. Her sudden retirement sparked media speculation, but was later revealed to stem from distrust of director Ishii regarding tax evasion, combined with health issues including bile duct stones, liver dysfunction, and eventually bile duct cancer.
