Thai entertainment company Be On Cloud, best known for producing hit BL dramas including KinnPorsche: The Series, Dead Friend Forever (DFF), 4 Minutes, and the upcoming Shine, has issued a public statement addressing a series of issues that affected its SHINE Hong Kong Fancon event. The company apologized to attendees after unexpected delays, venue changes, and logistical problems caused the event to run into the early hours of the morning.
According to Be On Cloud, the problems began when attendance exceeded expectations. The company said more fans than originally anticipated purchased benefit packages and additional event access, creating significant scheduling challenges throughout the day.
Event Schedule Extended by Higher-Than-Expected Participation
Be On Cloud explained that activities such as photo sessions, fan benefits, and interactions with artists took considerably longer than planned due to the increased number of participants.
As a result, the main stage performance started later than scheduled. The company said it chose to prioritize fulfilling fan benefits before moving forward with the concert portion of the event.
Venue Change Created Additional Delays
The company also said it was informed during the event that the venue could no longer accommodate the performance because of concerns related to excessive overtime.
Be On Cloud stated that organizers quickly secured an alternate venue, allowing the show to continue rather than be canceled outright. However, transporting equipment, staff, artists, and attendees to the new location added further delays.
Typhoon Noul Disrupted Logistics
Compounding the situation, Typhoon Noul reportedly caused severe weather across Hong Kong, affecting transportation and deliveries throughout the city.
According to Be On Cloud, some event materials—including autograph posters—did not arrive on time because of weather-related shipping disruptions. Fans who did not receive their posters at the venue will receive them at a later date, the company said.
Activities Continued Until Approximately 1:00 a.m.
Following the venue change, Be On Cloud completed the remaining scheduled performances and fan activities. The company said the event concluded at approximately 1:00 a.m., much later than originally planned.
In its statement, the company apologized for the inconvenience and acknowledged that the experience fell short of expectations for many attendees.
Company Promises Improvements
Be On Cloud said it is reviewing what happened and plans to improve future event planning, scheduling, and operational coordination to help prevent similar issues at upcoming fan events.
The company also thanked fans for their patience and continued support throughout the evening despite the unexpected circumstances.
Be On Cloud's full statement was published on its official social media channels.
