August is bringing another varied month of BL premieres, with new series arriving from Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and the Philippines. This month’s lineup includes campus romances, supernatural mysteries, sports stories, an idol-industry drama, and the return of Gelboys.

Here are all the BL series currently confirmed to premiere in August 2026. Release dates and streaming availability may vary by country and remain subject to change.

August 1: Your Sky: Hare Nochi Koi

The Thai BL Your Sky receives a Japanese adaptation starring Ayuta Fukuda and Isshin Aihara.

Hinata is a kindhearted university student whose inability to refuse others lands him in an uncomfortable situation with a persistent senior. He is rescued by Sora, a popular but intimidating student who suddenly claims that the two of them are dating. Their improvised lie becomes a fake relationship—and gradually begins to feel increasingly real.

August 2: Sugar Games

Basketball rivalry and romance collide in the newest Filipino BL from Oxin Films.

Starring Jake Ulan and Gelo De Lara, Sugar Games follows young players whose competition extends beyond the basketball court. As their ambitions, rivalries, and personal feelings begin to overlap, the game becomes much more complicated than either side expected.

August 5: New Boyfriend

New Boyfriend

New Boyfriend brings another Thai romantic drama to YouTube, led by Tontaee Tin and Prem Napat.

The series centers on love, unresolved feelings, and the difficulty of moving forward when a previous relationship continues to affect the present. New episodes are expected to arrive every Wednesday following its August 5 premiere.

August 6: Unlucky Bae

Superstition, mistaken identity, and romance collide in this fantasy romantic comedy starring Tham Tupthong and Mac Nattapat.

After a painful breakup, Rin—a fine arts student descended from a family of sorcerers—attempts to curse his ex-boyfriend. Instead, the spell strikes Khobfah, his ex’s friend, leaving him plagued by increasingly terrible luck. Rin must stay close to the man he accidentally cursed while searching for a way to reverse the damage, bringing the two into an unexpectedly complicated relationship.

After Changing Seats, It Seems the Guy Behind Me Likes Me

A classroom seating change leads to an unexpected confession in this Japanese school romance starring Eito Konishi and Gennosuke.

Ordinary high school student Haru Mayama discovers a love confession written on a paper passed forward from the desk behind him. The sender is Kosei Asamiya, one of the most popular students in their class—and he has no intention of hiding how long he has been waiting to reveal his feelings.

August 8: Gelboys Season 2

Season two reunites New Chayapak, Pide Monthapoom, PJ Mahidol, and Leon Zech while introducing new characters to the group’s increasingly complicated social circle. This time, their fascination with the idol world creates new sources of excitement—and new reasons for insecurity.

August 13: Wait a Moment, Harutora!

Wait a Moment, Harutora!

Tsubasa Nakagawa and Masaya Sakuragi lead this live-action adaptation of Amekiri’s BL manga.

After being outed as gay, high school student Sui hides his expressions behind a mask and tries to avoid attracting attention at his dormitory. His carefully controlled routine begins to change when he is assigned a new roommate: the open and straightforward Harutora. Sui finds himself drawn to the very qualities that make Harutora so different from him.

August 14: Connecting to You

A supernatural connection brings together two men whose pasts may be more closely linked than either realizes.

Jia Kai can see invisible threads connecting people but has never possessed one of his own. That changes when he meets police officer Da Wei and discovers a mysterious silver thread between them. Following the connection leads the pair toward a shared childhood tragedy, unanswered questions, and the possibility of a love neither expected.

The series stars Bruce Chiu and Liu Yu Ren.

August 16: Love³

Love³

Set against a school backdrop, Love³ follows a group of students navigating friendship, attraction, and the uncertainty of first love.

The youthful ensemble romance introduces several developing relationships as its characters begin to understand that feelings rarely remain as simple as they first appear.

August 25: Nour

NOUR

Crime, fantasy, and romance come together in one of August’s darkest new BL premieres.

A young police officer investigating a string of unexplained arson cases becomes entangled in a mystery involving supernatural forces and secrets hidden within the city. As the investigation deepens, his connection with a mysterious man may hold the key to understanding what is really happening.

The WeTV Original stars Boss Patthakarn, Tongtong Kitsakorn, Toey Pongsakorn, and Phoom Chawonwat.

Coming in August: Mr. Fanboy

Mr. Fanboy explores fandom, celebrity, and romance behind the scenes of the entertainment industry.

Wan is a university student and devoted fan of rising actor Nine. When he unexpectedly lands a supporting role in Nine’s new series, he finds himself working with Third, the production’s talented but sharp-tongued lead actor. Their early clashes gradually give way to an unexpected attraction, complicating Wan’s long-standing devotion to his idol.

The series stars Save Worapong, Auau Thanaphum, and James Supamongkon. An exact August premiere date has not yet been announced.
