Japanese BL series Duty First, Kiss Later has made its international premiere, with Episode 1 now available to watch on GagaOOLala.

Known in Japan as Kiss wa Sousa no Ato de (キスは捜査のあとで), the 10-episode romantic comedy stars Shu Watanabe as Heisuke Takoi, a warmhearted veteran detective working in a quiet rural town. Although Takoi may appear rough and old-fashioned, he is known for treating every case—and everyone who comes to him for help—with genuine care.

Ryu Saito co-stars as Shu Shiono, a talented younger officer whose cool demeanor and sharp tongue regularly put him at odds with Takoi. The two clash at work and live next door to each other in the police dormitory, leaving little room to escape their tense relationship.

When Takoi receives an offer for an arranged marriage, Shiono’s hostility intensifies. A confrontation between the officers in an interrogation room then takes an unexpected turn, revealing that something more personal may be hiding beneath their constant arguments.

The series is adapted from Suu’s BL manga of the same name and blends an age-gap romance with workplace comedy and light police investigations. Supporting cast members include Haruka Kudo, Yuta Kanai, Doronzu Ishimoto, Toshihiro Yashiba, and Rei Kikukawa.

Duty First, Kiss Later began its Japanese broadcast on ABC TV on July 26, with domestic catch-up streaming through TVer and ABEMA and on-demand availability through FOD. GagaOOLala launched the series internationally on July 27, with availability in most territories outside Japan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Episode 1 is currently marked as free to watch.
