Director Aof Noppharnach has shared the first rehearsal update for The Love of Siam: The Musical, as the upcoming stage production prepares for a 15-performance run starring Gemini Norawit and Fourth Nattawat.
In an August 25 post on X, Aof confirmed that the cast has completed its first read-through and already begun some initial rehearsals.
“The younger actors are very excited,” the director wrote, adding that rehearsals are expected to move ahead at full intensity after Gemini and Fourth complete their respective solo concerts.
Gemini’s ART-VENTURE Concert is scheduled for September 4–6, while Fourth’s OH MY FOURTH Concert will take place October 16–18. Aof’s update therefore suggests that the production will enter its most intensive rehearsal period during the final weeks before the musical opens in December.

Gemini and Fourth become Tong and Mew
GMMTV confirmed Gemini and Fourth as the musical’s leads during its 2026 lineup presentation in November 2025. Gemini will portray Tong, while Fourth takes on the role of Mew.
The pair introduced their interpretation of the characters through a performance of “Gun Lae Gun,” one of the original film’s most recognizable songs. Their complete announcement performance can be watched through GMMTV’s official YouTube channel.
The stage adaptation was first unveiled during GMMTV’s 2025 lineup in November 2024, before its leads were revealed the following year.
Originally released in 2007, The Love of Siam follows childhood friends Tong and Mew as they reconnect during adolescence and confront their feelings for one another amid a wider story about love, grief, friendship and family. The film starred Mario Maurer as Tong and Witwisit “Pchy” Hiranyawongkul as Mew.
Its combination of queer coming-of-age romance and family drama helped make The Love of Siam one of the most enduring and influential Thai LGBTQ+ films of its generation. The musical now gives Gemini and Fourth the considerable challenge of reinterpreting two characters—and a love story—that remain deeply familiar to Thai audiences nearly two decades later.
With the read-through completed and performance dates now set, The Love of Siam: The Musical is officially moving from announcement to production.
