GMMTV says the dispute between an attendee and a staff member at a fan gathering during the International Novel Festival 2026 has been resolved, with both parties withdrawing their complaints and agreeing not to pursue further legal action.
In a follow-up statement released on July 28, GMMTV said the attendee and staff member had each filed a complaint against the other with an investigating officer. The two parties met on July 27 to discuss the incident, clarify what occurred, and reach what the company described as a mutual resolution on good terms.

According to GMMTV, both complaints have now been withdrawn. The attendee also voluntarily removed posts and other material related to the incident from their personal channels.
The staff member’s duties had been temporarily paused while the matter was being addressed. Following the resolution, GMMTV lifted that pause and reinstated the staff member to their previous role.
GMMTV apologized for the concern, discomfort, and disappointment caused by the incident. The company reaffirmed that attendees should receive equal treatment regardless of race or nationality, while also emphasizing the safety and fair treatment of on-site staff.
The company said it would use the incident to improve its event management, including communicating rules more clearly and establishing procedures for handling situations in which attendees do not follow event guidelines.
GMMTV also asked the public to respect the privacy of both parties and to avoid sharing personal information or using related images and clips to harass those involved or artists and individuals unconnected to the incident.
