Mandee Work has officially revealed JJay Patiphan Fueangfunuwat as Ohm Thanakrit Chiamchunya’s new on-screen partner for the upcoming fantasy BL series Magic Lover.
The confirmation arrived through newly released promotional artwork featuring the project’s revised six-member cast. JJay appears alongside Ohm as the third central pairing, joining returning couples Keng Harit and Namping Napatsakorn, and Thomas Teetut and Kong Kongpob.
Reveal moved forward following fan feedback
JJay and Ohm were originally scheduled to be revealed together during the Magic Lover blessing ceremony on August 20.
In an August 10 message to fans, Ohm explained that the team had planned to wait until the ceremony so everything surrounding the announcement could be fully prepared.
After receiving messages and feedback about the timing, however, Ohm said he would try his best to have the announcement moved forward for everyone’s peace of mind. He added that if it were possible to reveal his partner before the ceremony, the announcement would be made as soon as possible.
Mandee Work subsequently unveiled the updated cast poster, confirming JJay’s participation and bringing the months-long casting mystery to an end.
The earlier online announcement allows fans to become familiar with the revised pairing before JJay and Ohm make their public appearance together at the ceremony.
JJay joins the revised cast
JJay is known for playing Tee in Dead Friend Forever, Win in 4MINUTES and Sucha in Shine. His addition marks a significant casting change for Magic Lover, whose original pilot featured Jimmy Karn opposite Ohm.
The recasting follows Mandee Work’s April announcement that Jimmy and Ohm had mutually decided to conclude working together as a pair. The company said at the time that changes would consequently be made to the actors participating in Magic Lover.
Ohm later confirmed that he would remain with the project, leaving the identity of his new co-star as one of the production’s biggest unanswered questions.
What is Magic Lover about?
The fantasy romantic comedy follows three young wizards who travel to the human world accompanied by their assistants. They have 30 days to find true love or risk being permanently transformed into animals.
Because the original pilot was produced before the casting change, its characters and story details may not fully represent the completed version of the series.
The Magic Lover blessing ceremony will take place on August 20, 2026, beginning at 9:40 a.m. Thailand time at River Park on the ground floor of ICONSIAM. Fans will also be able to watch the ceremony live through the Mandee Channel on YouTube.
The production has introduced “Magic Lover Worship” as the official social-media keyword for the ceremony, accompanied by the hashtag #บวงสรวงMagicLover.
Magic Lover has not yet received a confirmed premiere date.
