Domundi and Mandee Work have released the official trailer for Mr. Fanboy, offering a much deeper look at the upcoming Thai BL starring Save Worapong Walor and Auau Thanaphum Sestasittikul.
The series is currently expected to premiere in August 2026, with Save playing Wan and Auau starring opposite him as Third.
From Fanboy to Actor
Wan is a university student whose favorite pastime is following and photographing rising star Nine, played by James Supamongkon Wongwisut.
His life takes an unexpected turn when he receives the opportunity to audition for a supporting role in a Y series starring his idol.
Getting closer to Nine sounds like a fanboy’s dream—until Wan meets Third, the project’s sharp-tongued leading man and Nine’s on-screen partner.
Wan and Third immediately get on each other’s nerves. But after Wan passes his audition, the two are forced to spend more time together, and their antagonistic relationship gradually begins to shift.
As Wan gets to know Third beyond their initial clashes, he finds himself looking at his supposed rival differently.
There’s More Behind the Camera
The trailer also suggests that Mr. Fanboy won’t limit its story to romance.
After finally entering the entertainment world he has admired from the outside, Wan begins discovering that the industry isn’t quite as glamorous as it appears.
Even Nine—the celebrity Wan has spent so much time idolizing—may be hiding something.
That element gives Mr. Fanboy a particularly fitting premise for a BL series: its central character goes from being a fan observing actors and their public pairings to experiencing the realities of the industry himself.
AuauSave Move Into Leading Roles
Mr. Fanboy gives Auau Thanaphum and Save Worapong their first series as the primary pairing after gaining attention together through Your Sky.
The series also brings James Supamongkon into the story as Nine, placing the three characters at the center of its mix of celebrity fandom, show-business drama and developing romance.
An exact premiere date and international streaming details have not yet been announced, although the series remains scheduled for August 2026.
