GMMTV surprised fans on Sunday with the reveal of The Missing Sunshine (ดั่งแสงที่หายไป), a new 2027 BL series starring Pond Naravit Lertratkosum and Phuwin Tangsakyuen.
The series was unveiled on August 23 during the third and final night of the pair’s POND PHUWIN Space Soul-dyssey CONCERT at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. The concert ran across three sold-out performances from August 21 through 23, making the new-series reveal part of the finale for Pond and Phuwin’s largest concert event of the year. ThaiTicketMajor lists all three performances and the August 23 finale.
Shortly after the reveal, GMMTV released the official first-look video for The Missing Sunshine, giving audiences their first glimpse at PondPhuwin’s latest project together.
The first visuals immediately point toward a noticeably darker direction for the pair. The official poster places Pond and Phuwin in a nighttime urban setting, locked in an intense confrontation with a handgun between them, while the first-look footage similarly emphasizes danger, tension and conflict.
GMMTV has not yet released enough information to firmly classify the series by genre beyond BL, but the visual language suggests a more dramatic and potentially thriller-leaning story than some of PondPhuwin’s recent work.
The project also marks another chapter in one of GMMTV’s longest-running current pairings. Pond and Phuwin previously starred together in Fish Upon the Sky, Never Let Me Go and We Are, with Never Let Me Go in particular placing their romance against a backdrop of family conflict, violence and danger.
The Missing Sunshine appears poised to bring the pair back into similarly intense dramatic territory, while introducing a new story and visual identity built around a much darker atmosphere.
For now, GMMTV has confirmed the series as part of its 2027 lineup, but further details including the full supporting cast, episode count and premiere date have not yet been announced.
