The Japanese BL drama, known in Japan as Shūgaku Ryokō de Nakayoku Nai Group ni Hairimashita (修学旅行で仲良くないグループに入りました), has been renewed for Season 2, with the new season scheduled to air in fall 2026.
The announcement was made on August 10 during the drama's Summer Vacation Reunion event, which brought the main cast back together following the first season.
Season 2 will continue the story of Asahi Hioki and Tsukasa Watarai, played by Kouta Fujimoto and Hideyoshi Kan, following the development of their relationship after the events of Season 1.
The first season followed the reserved Hioki after he unexpectedly found himself assigned to a school-trip group with four of his class's most popular students. Among them was Watarai, whose unusual amount of attention toward Hioki gradually developed into something much more romantic.
By the end of the season, the two had finally acknowledged their feelings for each other, setting up plenty of room for the story to explore what happens once their relationship actually begins.
Season 2 is expected to move the characters into their third year of high school, shifting the story from the uncertainty of falling in love toward the challenges — and presumably plenty of jealousy — that come with being in a relationship.
The returning ensemble also includes Masaya Sakuragi, Ayuta Fukuda and Kairi Shimizu, who appeared alongside Fujimoto and Kan at the reunion event.
The original series premiered on ABC TV in October 2025 and ran for 10 episodes. Internationally, the drama was also made available through GagaOOLala in supported regions.
An exact premiere date and international streaming details for Season 2 have not yet been announced.
