The upcoming Korean BL Summertime is officially heading to international viewers. iQIYI has announced that the youth romance will begin streaming on August 27, 2026.
The series follows Yeo Eun-ho and Cha Do-hyeon, childhood friends who have spent 19 years at each other’s side. Eun-ho believes he understands his best friend better than anyone—including the fact that Do-hyeon’s seemingly perfect image at school is partly a façade—but remains unaware of the romantic feelings Do-hyeon has hidden for years.
Do-hyeon has been patiently trying to find his way into Eun-ho’s heart without risking their friendship. His plans are disrupted by the arrival of transfer student Kwon Yi-hyeon, whose growing closeness with Eun-ho brings Do-hyeon’s jealousy and possessive feelings to the surface.
Kim Do-min stars as Yeo Eun-ho, while Seong In-ho plays Cha Do-hyeon. The drama is adapted from Iromil’s popular web novel of the same name and comes from the producers behind The Prosecutor’s Proposal and Thundercloud Rainstorm. Fans can already watch the official main trailer on iQIYI.
The international release arrives one day before the drama’s domestic Korean premiere. Studio Oak’s announcement lists Summertime for an August 28 debut on Wavve.
According to iQIYI, the drama will be exclusive to its platform across its English-, Spanish- and Portuguese-language regions, while distribution will be non-exclusive elsewhere. The official iQIYI series page is currently accepting reservations ahead of the premiere.
