The upcoming Korean BL series Summertime has found its leading actors, with Seong In-ho and Kim Do-min set to play two lifelong friends whose relationship begins to cross an emotional boundary.
Studio OAK announced that Seong In-ho will star as Cha Do-hyeon, while Kim Do-min will play Yeo Eun-ho. The company described the adaptation as a story about the vivid memory of first love and said it is expected to arrive during summer 2026.
Based on Lee Romil’s BL web novel Summertime—known in Korean as Hajeolgi (하절기)—the story follows Do-hyeon and Eun-ho, who were born in the same neighborhood and have remained inseparable throughout elementary, middle, and high school.
Eun-ho has always considered their bond as close as family. However, Do-hyeon has been concealing feelings that no longer fit within the boundaries of friendship. As his behavior begins to change and more secrets emerge, Eun-ho is forced to reconsider the relationship they have shared for nearly two decades.
The original novel was also adapted into a completed webtoon written by Mingur and illustrated by Jeolgu. Its familiar childhood-friends setup, school setting and long-held unrequited love will now make the transition to live action with Seong In-ho and Kim Do-min at the center of the story.
