‘The Proper Way to Write Love’ will return for its second season on October 29, bringing Genki Iwahashi and Satoru Soma back as Hiro and Natsuo.
TOKYO MX confirmed that the six-episode season will air every Thursday from 9:25 to 9:54 p.m. JST. The announcement was accompanied by a new main visual featuring the returning leads alongside chocolate cosmos, an autumn flower that will serve as a key motif in the new story.
Season 2 begins a little over a year after Hiro and Natsuo worked through the misunderstandings surrounding their past and entered a genuine relationship. An unexpected accident at Hiro’s home leads the couple to begin living together at Natsuo’s house.
Although Hiro finds himself repeatedly swept up in Natsuo’s pace, the two enjoy the happiness of sharing their everyday lives. Their growing relationship also brings new feelings and questions about what they truly want for their futures as they approach important crossroads in their lives.
The sequel will tell an original story supervised by manga creator Ogeretsu Tanaka, incorporating material from the original work’s spin-off stories. Director Aki Sato and screenwriter Mikiko Takahashi also return from the first season.
Before the television premiere, Iwahashi and Soma will appear at an advance screening of Episode 1 in Tokyo on October 26. Chris Matsumura will return as the event’s host, with ticketing and venue information to be announced later.
In Japan, episodes will receive catch-up streaming through TVer, while FOD will carry the season through its subscription service. An international streaming platform for Season 2 has not yet been announced. The eight-episode first season is currently available internationally through GagaOOLala.
