1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using BL Atlas ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our") at blatlas.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and BL Atlas. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email, and continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use BL Atlas. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

BL Atlas is a tracking and rating platform — we do not host, stream, or distribute show content directly. However, the shows catalogued on our platform may carry mature content ratings (e.g., TV-MA, 18+), including depictions of violence, adult relationships, or other themes not suitable for younger viewers. BL Atlas does not display explicit or pornographic content. Users under 18 are encouraged to use the Service with parental guidance, and parents should be aware that some tracked titles may contain adult-themed material.

3. Accounts

3.1 Registration

To access certain features (such as tracking shows and submitting ratings), you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@blatlas.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

3.3 Third-Party Login

If you sign in using a third-party OAuth provider (e.g., Google), you authorize us to access the basic profile information that provider makes available. Your use of that provider is governed by their terms, not ours.

3.4 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that is harmful to the Service, other users, or us.

4. User Content

4.1 What You Post

"User Content" refers to any content you submit to the Service, including ratings, reviews, lists, and profile information.

4.2 License to BL Atlas

By submitting User Content, you grant BL Atlas a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and adapt your content in connection with operating and promoting the Service.

4.3 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent that:

• You own or have the rights to post your content.
• Your content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
• Your content complies with these Terms and applicable law.

4.4 Prohibited Content

You may not post content that:

• Is defamatory, harassing, hateful, or threatening toward any person or group
• Infringes any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right
• Contains personally identifiable information about others without their consent
• Promotes illegal activity
• Is spam, misinformation, or deliberately deceptive
• Depicts or sexualizes minors in any way

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms at our sole discretion.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service without our written permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful software
• Circumvent any security, access control, or usage-limitation features

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

All content provided by BL Atlas — including the website design, logos, software, graphics, text, and data compilations — is owned by or licensed to BL Atlas and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

6.2 Show Information and Metadata

Information about BL shows (titles, synopses, cast, cover art) may be sourced from third-party databases, publishers, or public sources. We do not claim ownership of that underlying content, and all rights remain with their respective owners.

6.3 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without any obligation to you.

7. Advertising

BL Atlas does not currently display advertising. We reserve the right to introduce advertising in the future. If and when we do, we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy accordingly. Any advertising will comply with applicable laws and platform standards.

8. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (e.g., OAuth login providers). BL Atlas is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third parties. Use them at your own risk.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any content on the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BL ATLAS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, OR (B) $50 USD.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BL Atlas and its operators, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your User Content, or (c) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be submitted to informal negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, with proceedings conducted in English.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BL Atlas regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
